First Hawaiian Bank Credit Card

First Hawaiian Bank offers five credit cards for its clients to choose from.

One of these is the First Hawaiian Bank Priority RewardsSM Platinum MasterCard. This is the only Platinum First Hawaiian Bank credit card in the market and is the only one that offers rewards with zero annual fees.

The standard features of this First Hawaiian Bank credit card include the CashPointsSM Rewards Program and the Platinum Privileges from MasterCard. CashPointsSM are earned for every purchase that used the Priority Rewards Platinum MasterCard. Upon enrollment, 10,000 bonus CashPointsSM are automatically given to the First Hawaiin Bank credit card holder. Every time the card is used on purchases after, up to 3 CashPointsSM will be given. Every $1 spent on gas purchases is equal to 3 CashPointsSM. For groceries, 2 CashPointsSM are given for every dollar, and every other purchase gets 1 CashPointSM. These points can be rolled up with the points earned from the First Hawaiian Priority Rewards Debit Card to increase the cardholder’s chances of getting the rewards s/he wants, which includes cash rebates, gift cards, airline tickets, hotel accommodations, car rentals, cruises, etc. Points, however, are limited to purchases made on the First Hawaiian Bank credit card. Cash advances, checks, and other fees do not earn the cardholder any CashPointsSM. Furthermore, CashPointsSM are limited to 250,000 point per year and can only be redeemed within five years. Also, the CashPointsSM Rewards Program is only open for First Hawaiian Bank credit card holders with good standing.

Interest rates attached to this First Hawaiian Bank credit card include a purchase APR of a variable 15.24% and a cash advance APR of a fixed 18%. When the required minimum monthly payment is not paid by the due date, a penalty APR of 18% will be imposed on the outstanding balance of the First Hawaiian Bank credit card. This will only be removed when a cardholder manages to pay at least the minimum payment for six consecutive billing cycles by the due date. Cardholders who are consistent with making punctual payments every month are given a grace period of 25 days.

This First Hawaiian Bank credit card also has a number of fees imposed. Foreign transactions are charged with a 2.5% fee (2.5% of the amount in US dollars). When the cash advance feature is used and the cardholder withdraws from an ATM, the transaction fee is 3% of the amount ($3 minimum, $50 maximum). When the First Hawaiian credit card holder, however, withdraws, transfers balances, or uses convenience checks over the counter, the transaction fee remains at 3% but the minimum rises to $5. Late payments on this First Hawaiian Bank credit card also face a $29.95 penalty fee. So does going over the limit, which incurs a $15 fee.
